ABOUT
The Lake Charles Area Electrical Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee (LCJATC) was created over 76 years ago as a joint training program between the Lake Charles Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union 861, aimed at training the best electrical workers the industry has to offer.
The LCJATC is part of the largest apprenticeship and training organization of its kind in the United States, the Electrical Training Alliance (ETA), which has trained over 350,000 apprentices to journey worker status through local affiliate programs throughout the country. Over the years, we have continually trained the best electricians in the industry without cost to the taxpayers. LCJATC students in our training program earn while they learn by doing apprenticeships. Not only does this allow students to earn an income while in school, but it also creates new tax revenue for the economy. Each year, participants in our program pay thousands of dollars in taxes to support our community. This is truly a model program as it takes little to nothing from the taxpayers while training some of the most productive workers in the world who contribute to our economy. Our apprenticeship program is approved and registered with the State of Louisiana and the U.S. Department of Labor. |
